This Abandoned House: Attic

Attic

The attic almost didn't happen.  In order to comply with the building code and be allowed to use the attic as living space, there would have to be two exits. The interior staircase wouldn't be enough. But the cost of exterior stairs on the back of the house looked like it would break our budget.

We got estimates for the whole project  - with and without the attic and exterior stairs - from four different contractors. We chose Cezar, whose budget for the house including the attic and exterior stairs was less than every other bidder's budget for the house without the attic and exterior stairs.  It seemed too good to be true, but Cezar came through under budget and on schedule!

Brad, a programmer who works from home, started planning his attic office right away.
