Andrew's corrugated metal roof: Before and After

We love our metal roof. The rain sounds great on it, and it will last for ages. When Brad's brother, Andrew, said he was shopping for a new roof for his house, we suggested he look into metal, too. Flash forward: he got the new roof installed last week, and it looks great!

HUGE difference, right? I asked Andrew why he opted for the metal roof instead of traditional shingles. He said that going with metal was cheaper and will last longer than asphalt.  (*Note: Andrew pronounces "asphalt" correctly.  For Chicago readers, he means ash-fault.)

Let's run the numbers. Materials and labor for the metal roof was a grand total of...$5700.  In contrast, the quotes for a shingle roof were $6700 and $7600.  I think there's no question this was a great deal.
